- A luxurious model course from Lake Kawaguchi to Hakone
Did you know that the popular tourist sites of Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone can both be included as part of your trip around the Tokyo area? Get on a Keikyu bus and visit these marvelous spots near Mt. Fuji!
Get a view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi both at the same time!
The first thing you should see when reaching the shore of Lake Kawaguchi is the beautiful scenery filled with nature. The peak of Mt. Tenjo, which is commonly referred to as Mt. Kachi Kachi, is a particularly lovely spot as it offers a view of Lake Kawaguchi below and Mt. Fuji right next to you. Although Mt. Kachi Kachi has walking trails, a recommended attraction is the ropeway, which is located just ten minutes away by foot from Kawaguchiko Railway Station. Watch the scenery grow even more stunning as the altitude rises. Be sure not to miss the sights here!
Relax in an open-air bath while enjoying a magnificent view.
There is a particular noteworthy spot even among the scenic locations in the beautiful Lake Kawaguchi area. It is the bathhouse "Midori", which is located in the Kozantei Ubuya hotel. Here, you can enjoy a moment of luxury as you take in the magnificent view of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji as you relax in an open-air bath.
Sake made with the waters of Mt. Fuji
Sake is one of the highlights of travelling. Made with the subsoil water of Mt. Fuji, "Kai no Kaiun" is a famous sake that is born from just the right environment, ingredients, and the refined skills of the brewers.
Its popularity lies in its slightly dry and exquisite flavor. Ide Jyozoten, which is located near Kawaguchiko Railway Station, offers tours of the brewery where Kai no Kaiun is made. Experience the flavor of this sake from Mt. Fuji with your five senses!
Now is the time to enjoy shopping to your heart's content!
Gotemba Premium Outlets has about 210 shops where you can buy products by popular brands such as GUCCI, COACH, and PRADA at outlet prices. They are famous as outlet malls that are popular with visitors from abroad. When you feel that you have had enough of shopping for a while, there is the Food Bazaar, where you can enjoy dishes from all around the world for lunch at reasonable prices.
A pleasant shopping experience for people from all across the globe
Gotemba Premium Outlets have signs and maps that provide guidance in many different languages. Other services include free public Wi-Fi in designated areas, a call center that provides support in various languages, and a Prayer Room for prayer and meditation.
Take a bus when travelling between Lake Kawaguchi and Gotemba
While there is no bus that travels directly from Kawaguchiko to Hakone, there is a bus regularly scheduled to travel from Gotemba Premium Outlet towards Hakone and Kawaguchiko. Let's make good use of the bus and see both of the popular areas.
Take the Tozan Train and cable car when visiting tourist sites.
The very hilly Hakone area can be explored by bus, ropeway, cable car, sightseeing ship, and so on, but please be sure to also use the Hakone Tozan Railway, which in November 2014 released the "Allegra" which is a new type of sightseeing train. The Allegra is characterized by its huge windows that let you see the scenery along the tracks even better. Now you can further enjoy the highlights of the four seasons including the hydrangeas, which bloom so close to the tracks that the train is also known as the "Hydrangea Train", as well as the iron Deyama Bridge, which gives you a beautiful view of the autumnal leaves ready to fall down a sheer gorge.

What is that? It's a pirate ship!
You can reach Lake Ashi by taking the Hakone Tozan Cable Car from Gora Railway Station and riding the Hakone Ropeway. If you keep your eyes on the lake for a while, you will notice a pirate ship sailing. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Ashi as the Vasa, Victory, and Royal II, which are modeled after European pirate ships, sail back and forth between the three ports of the lake.
